At Aetta, we specialize in creating spaces that realize the potential of professional needs in public safety and education. Our three-story 30,000 sq. ft. design for the new North Pole Fire Station was developed to harmonize with the existing fire department building, enhance community access, and optimize crew response time and efficiency.
The 17,406 sq. ft. first floor is the hub of communal activity, featuring a large kitchen, dining room, day areas, gym, and sauna, encouraging the crew to engage and interact. The 6,960 sq. ft. second floor houses the Watch Office adjacent to sixteen dorms, each with a separate locker area, ensuring privacy and quiet for resting crew members. This strategic division of spaces designates the first floor for active use and the second floor for residential purposes, maintaining efficiency in response times.
The 5,234 sq. ft. third floor serves administrative and public functions, with offices, conference rooms, a breakroom, and a large training room. It also includes a public reception area that embraces the station's community role.
The station features six extra-deep apparatus bays for vehicle accommodation and ample storage, including a 1,695 sq. ft. mezzanine positioned to maximize property use and access to the new and existing buildings.
Our design approach realizes the new North Pole Fire Station as both a rapid response center and a vehicle for attracting and retaining talent to serve the greater North Pole region.
